OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - Oklahoma forestry officials and the National Weather Service are warning of high to extreme fire dangers in much of the state through the middle of the week.

Oklahoma Forestry Services said the fire danger will be high to extreme Monday west of a line from Osage County to Cotton County. The weather service is warning of high fire dangers in northeastern Oklahoma and northwestern Arkansas.

Burn bans are in effect for Alfalfa, Cotton, Craig, Custer and Seminole counties.

The weather service also says strong thunderstorms with cloud to ground lightning and large hail is possible in the state through mid-week.
