EAST LANSING, Mich. (AP) - Michigan State University is hosting a night dedicated to failure.
What sounds like the beginning of a joke at the Spartans’ expense is actually the premise behind an event featuring tales of personal failure told by university officials, business leaders, as well as an author and artist.
The latest installment of Failure:Lab comes Tuesday to the university’s Wharton Center for the Performing Arts. Among the six speakers telling 10-minute stories are Michigan State Athletic Director Mark Hollis, College of Medicine Dean Marsha Rappley and Detroit rapper-emcee Miz Korona.
Failure:Lab launched its storytelling events last year in Grand Rapids and Detroit. Organizers say the aim is to eliminate the stigma around failure and encourage risk-taking.
Tickets are $10 for students and $15 for the general public.
