CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (AP) - Only 9 of Illinois’ 18 congressional districts feature contested races in the March 18 primary election. Here’s who’s in the running:
3rd Congressional District
Incumbent: Rep. Dan Lipinski, Western Springs Democrat, unchallenged.
GOP primary contenders: Sharon M. Brannigan of Palos Heights, Dianne M. Harris of Joliet.
4th Congressional District
Incumbent: Rep. Luis Gutierrez of Chicago faces Democratic primary against Jorge Gerardo Zavala and Alexandra Eidenberg, both of Chicago.
8th Congressional District
Incumbent: Rep. Tammy Duckworth, Hoffman Estates Democrat, unchallenged.
GOP primary contenders: Manju Goel of Aurora, Larry Kaifesh of Carpentersville.
9th Congressional District
Incumbent: Rep. Jan Schakowsky, Evanston Democrat, unchallenged.
GOP primary contenders: Susanne Atanus of Niles, David Earl Williams III of Chicago
11th Congressional District
Incumbent: Rep. Bill Foster, Naperville Democrat, unchallenged.
GOP primary contenders: Chris Balkema of Channahon, Ian Bayne of Aurora, Bert Miller of Hinsdale, state Rep. Darlene Senger of Naperville
13th Congressional District
Incumbent: Rep. Rodney Davis of Taylorville faces Republican primary against Michael Firsching of Moro and Erika Harold of Urbana
Democratic primary contenders: Ann Callis of Edwardsville, George Golin and David Green, both of Champaign
14th Congressional District
Incumbent: Rep. Randy Hultgren, Winfield Republican, unchallenged.
Democratic primary contenders: Dennis Anderson of Gurnee, John Hosta of Spring Grove
16th Congressional District
Incumbent: Rep. Adam Kinzinger of Channahon faces Republican primary against David Hale Jr. of Rockford
18th Congressional District
Incumbent: Rep. Aaron Schock, Peoria Republican, unchallenged.
Democratic primary contenders: Rob Mellon of Quincy, Darrel Miller of Danvers
