STONE MOUNTAIN, Ga. (AP) - Police in suburban Atlanta have identified two people who were killed in a crash on the Stone Mountain Highway.

DeKalb County Police Capt. Stephen Fore told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution (https://bit.ly/1dhsLj8 ) that 25-year-old Elise Word of Birmingham, Ala. and 25-year-old Denerra Patterson of Docena, Ala. died in the crash early Sunday morning.

Authorities have said the car they were riding in overturned and hit a guard rail. Police have said Word was ejected from the vehicle.

The cause of the crash is unclear but police have said speed may have been a factor.
