PHOENIX (AP) - Phoenix Mayor Greg Stanton is traveling to Mexico for the second time in less than month.

The mayor is departing Monday for Hermosillo, Mexico for an event celebrating the sister-cities relationship Phoenix has there.

Stanton made the journey to Hermosillo on Feb. 8 to speak with Mexican officials about increasing cross-border trade and economic opportunities.

During that visit, Stanton met with Sonora Gov. Guillermo Padres Elias as part of the Arizona-Mexico Commission’s Annual Fall/Winter Plenary Session.

This trip will mark Stanton’s seventh to Mexico. He has been making efforts to improve relationships and bolster cross-border economic trade.
