Media mogul Rupert Murdoch didn’t pull punches in a recent Twitter comment about what’s gone wrong in New York City: The leftists have taken over, he said.

“NYC now totally managed by leftist activists with no experience in running anything beyond protests. Big mess ahead,” he tweeted, Newsmax reported

Mr. Murdoch, 82, is the executive chairman of News Corp. He first said in The New York Times that the new mayor, Bill de Blasio, is pushing forward with a highly charged liberal agenda, bringing in leftist activists for positions of administration power.

“The mayor, who advanced in politics by grass-roots organizing, has built a team filled with former activists — figures more accustomed to picketing administrations or taking potshots from the outside than working from within,” he said, in the New York Times. “His administration is heavily populated with appointees best known for the fights they have fought.”
