CAMBRIDGE, Mass. (AP) - The Massachusetts Institute of Technology has teamed up with the White House to host a conference on how to maintain privacy in the digital era.
Leaders across academia, government and business will come together on Monday to discuss ways to protect privacy as technology continues to evolve.
Through the Internet, endless amounts of personal data have been readily available to collect and share. Although this data has been an asset for research and innovation, the boundary of privacy has not been drawn.
White House Counselor John Podesta, U.S. Commerce Secretary Penny Pritzker and Microsoft scientist Cynthia Dwork are among those scheduled to speak.
The University of California Berkeley and New York University will also be hosting workshops.
