CHICAGO (AP) - One of the coldest Chicago winters on record isn’t showing any signs of a thaw.

The National Weather Service says Monday’s high temperature will reach just 15 degrees. Because of the wind chill, it will feel like it is as cold as 20 degrees below zero.

The weather service also says the average temperature this winter has been 18.8 degrees - the third coldest winter on record behind the average temperature of 18.3 degrees in the winter of 1903-1904 and 18.4 degrees during the winter of 1978-1979. The agency averaged temperatures from Dec. 1 through Feb. 28.

Temperatures are expected to stay well below freezing most of the week and won’t climb above 30 degrees until Saturday. There’s a chance of light snow throughout the week.
