FRANKFURT, Germany (AP) - Eintracht Frankfurt coach Armin Veh will leave the Bundesliga club at the end of the season.
Veh said Monday he was leaving because the club did not have the financial means to improve its sporting future.
“They are trying everything here and doing everything to establish Eintracht in the league. But there are limits, simply. And I have other goals,” Veh said.
Veh said he did not have any other club in mind and might just take a year off.
The decision was announced a day after Frankfurt’s 2-1 win over Stuttgart. Veh coached Stuttgart to the Bundesliga title in 2007.
Veh took over at Frankfurt three years ago, after the club’s relegation. Frankfurt returned to the Bundesliga in Veh’s first season and then qualified for the Europa League.
Veh was late in extending his contract last season, when he had been linked with Schalke.
