OXFORD, Miss. (AP) - After months of delays, a new $30 million gym at Oxford High School is now officially complete.

Students and faculty got their first chance to check out the facilities on Thursday.

The two-story gym has more than 1,600 seats. Oxford Superintendent Brian Harvey tells The Oxford Eagle (https://bit.ly/1luhzES ) that the new gym is the “unofficial heart” of the school. School officials say it provides Oxford with a much-needed, larger gathering place for school and community events.
