SEATTLE (AP) - A U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement spokesman says federal agents have seized more than 60 pounds of cocaine at the U.S.-Canada border and arrested two men.
Spokesman Andrew Munoz says the two made an initial appearance Thursday in federal court in Seattle on charges they conspired to distribute the drug.
The spokesman says 35-year-old Harminder Singh Rai of Surrey, British Columbia, and 38-year-old Tuan Van Dang of San Diego were arrested separately on Wednesday after an investigation by the Blaine Border Enforcement Security Task Force.
Court records say agents followed Rai after he entered the United States at Blaine, Wash., and picked up a duffel bag from Dang at a Marysville motel. Rai was stopped at the border on his return trip to Canada. Court documents say the cocaine was found in his vehicle.
Dang was arrested in Bellingham.
