RICHMOND, Va. (AP) - Virginia Attorney General Mark Herring has wrapped up a two-week public safety tour of the state.

Herring ended the tour Friday with a regional meeting in Waynesboro. It began in Hampton Roads on March 17.

The two-week tour included 22 regional meetings with community leaders, law enforcement and public safety officials from more than 60 localities.

Officials say the meetings allowed Herring to hear from local public safety and law enforcement leaders and elected officials about challenges in their area and ways that his office can help protect their communities.
