BOLTON LANDING, N.Y. (AP) - More than 200 leaders in the New York Army and Air National are gathering at an Adirondack resort hotel for two days of professional development discussion and training.
National Guard officials say officers and senior non-commissioned officers from across New York state will Friday and Saturday at The Sagamore in Bolton Landing, on the western shore of Lake George.
The gathering brings National Guard leaders together to share lessons learned and hear from senior civilian and military officials about topics facing the military. Saturday’s focus will be the challenges facing the U.S. military as the defense budget is reduced and the combat operations wind down in Afghanistan.
Together, the New York Army and Air National Guard have more than 16,000 members assigned to nearly 50 locations across the state.
