CASPER, Wyo. (AP) - A fire at a plastic pipe factory in Casper is believed to have caused between $8 million and $10 million worth of damage.

The fire broke out early Thursday in a lot where pipes are stored at WL Plastics. The Casper Star-Tribune (https://bit.ly/1iHxU5G) reports that the fire burned several power poles but no structures were damaged. No one was injured.

Nearby residents were told to stay indoors because of fumes from the burning plastic. Natrona Fire Chief Richard Ratcliff says the smoke column fortunately went straight up into the air.

The cause of the fire is being investigated.

WL Plastics makes high-density plastic pipes for oil and gas development, mining and public water systems.
