OLYMPIA, Wash. (AP) - Gov. Jay Inslee is calling for a moment of silence Saturday to honor the victims of the deadly mudslide in Oso.
Inslee on Friday asked state residents to pause at 10:37 a.m. Saturday. The huge slide that destroyed the community north of Seattle struck at that time on March 22. He urged people to “join together and silently send our thoughts and prayers to the families of Oso.”
The tragedy is one of the worst in Washington history and one of the deadliest landslides ever seen in the United States.
