WASHINGTON (AP) - D.C. police are using divers and a crew of more than 100 people as they continue to search a large park for a missing 8-year-old girl.

Relisha Rudd was last seen on March 1 with Kahlil Tatum, a janitor at the city homeless shelter where Relisha lived. After authorities began searching for the girl, police found Tatum’s wife dead in a motel room in Oxon Hill, Md.

Police Chief Cathy Lanier said Friday that the search of the 700-acre park is “very technical” and includes divers going into small bodies of water.

Lanier emphasized that police are also looking elsewhere for clues about Relisha’s disappearance.

She also said that Tatum had contact with three other girls at the homeless shelter, although she did not specify what sort of contact.
