CLEMSON, S.C. (AP) - U.S. Poet Laureate Natasha Trethewey is making an appearance at a festival at Clemson University.
On Thursday, Trethwey is scheduled to give a reading and book signing at the Clemson University Alumni Center. The event is part of the Clemson Literary Festival, which started Wednesday and runs through Saturday.
Trethewey, a professor of English and creative writing at Emory University in Atlanta, won the Pulitzer Prize in 2007 for her collection “Native Guard.”
She was named Mississippi’s poet laureate in January 2012, for a four-year term. The Library of Congress named her the nation’s 19th poet laureate in June 2012.
