HARRISBURG, Pa. (AP) - Bill Richardson, the former New Mexico governor, U.S. energy secretary and U.N. ambassador, is headlining a fundraiser in Philadelphia for Democratic gubernatorial hopeful Katie McGinty.

The Thursday evening event with Richardson is at the Racquet Club of Philadelphia. Attendees were being asked to contribute at least $500.

McGinty worked with Richardson when she was an environmental adviser to Bill Clinton’s White House. McGinty went on to serve more than five years as former Gov. Ed Rendell’s environmental protection secretary and most recently was a senior vice president at Weston Solutions, a West Chester-based environmental engineering company.

McGinty is in a four-way race for the party’s nomination to challenge Republican Gov. Tom Corbett in the fall election.

However, she’s lagging behind the others in fundraising. The primary election is May 20.
