ADA, Okla. (AP) - The Oklahoma National Guard is conducting a rededication of the Ada armory after the 37-year-old facility received a $3 million face lift.
The ceremony will be Thursday at the Ada Readiness Center in Ada.
Built in 1976 as a replacement for the original WPA-era armory, the center didn’t receive any major upgrades since its original construction and failed to meet building code requirements.
Guard officials say the renovations included safety upgrades like fire suppression and alarms, as well as energy conservation and general maintenance improvements.
The facility also was upgraded to meet Americans with Disabilities Act code requirements and to provide better online access.
