STILLWATER, Okla. (AP) - Oklahoma State wrestling coach John Smith has been named the Big 12’s wrestling coach of the year for the 11th time.

The Cowboys finished third at the NCAA wrestling championships this year, with two Oklahoma State wrestlers winning national titles. The team qualified all 10 starters for the national tournament, and the team finished in the top three for the second year in a row.

Also this year, Oklahoma State won its 15th league title under Smith. The team has also won five national championships.

Under Smith, the team has had 28 national champions and 88 conference champions.

This is the fourth time in five seasons that Smith took coach of the year honors.
