BEND, Ore. (AP) - A PacifiCorp spokesman says crews have finished repairing the Mirror Pond dam in Bend.

Bob Gravely told The Bulletin newspaper (https://is.gd/QQcW3n ) that water levels in the pond should return to normal this summer.

A leak was discovered last fall, and Mirror Pond quickly began dropping, exposing wide mudflats.

PacifiCorp initially said the dam was too damaged to warrant further repairs. In late November, the utility announced it was ready to decommission it or transfer it to another entity.

But PacifiCorp officials changed their minds in February and agreed to repair the century-old dam.
