BARCELONA, Spain (AP) - Barcelona has signed Croatia midfielder Alen Halilovic from Dinamo Zabreg to join its youth team.
Barcelona says the 17-year-old Halilovic has agreed to a five-year contract.
The Spanish champions say they will pay Dinamo 2.2 million euros as an initial payment, “which will increase as the player meets certain goals.”
Halilovic says “Barcelona is something special, a club I have loved since I was a child and I am honored by the opportunity.”
Barcelona’s B-team plays in Spain’s second division.
Halilovic debuted for Croatia’s national team in June 2013.
