LONDON (AP) - West Ham ended a three-game losing streak as an own-goal by James Chester secured a 2-1 win over 10-man Hull on Wednesday that lifts the hosts firmly into mid-table in the Premier League.
Hull goalkeeper Allan McGregor was shown a straight red card after charging into Mo Diame midway through the first half and Mark Noble dispatched the resulting penalty to give West Ham the lead.
But Steve Bruce’s Hull equalized through Nikica Jelavic in the 48th before Chester’s own goal gifted the Hammers a much-needed three points.
McGregor became the first goalkeeper in almost a decade to be sent off twice in a Premier League season.
West Ham climbed to 11th with 34 points, one point ahead of 13th-place Hull.
