BURLINGTON, Vt. (AP) - Members of the City Council in Burlington are planning to present a resolution for striking bus drivers to agree to binding arbitration or other alternative means to resolve contract differences with the Chittenden County Transportation Authority.

The strike of about 70 drivers began March 17. The Chittenden County bus routes carried 10,000 passengers a day.

The Burlington Free Press reports (https://bfpne.ws/1muzUSB) the two members of the City Council are planning to introduce the resolution at a special council meeting Wednesday night.

The union and the CCTA negotiated on Saturday, without a resolution.
