The CEO for AMC Entertainment slammed Obamacare Tuesday, arguing that the “annoying” rollout and ever-changing deadlines signal that the law isn’t ready.
“It introduces a level of uncertainty that is troublesome, and has no right to be introduced,” Gerry Lopez told The Hollywood Reporter in Las Vegas. “The damn law just keeps changing. Make up your mind.”
An Obamacare provision that declares an employee full time if they work 30 hours a week, as opposed to 40, means employers will have to provide health insurance to those workers.
But theater circuits rely heavily on part-time workers, and the National Association of Theater Owners is part of a broad coalition urging Congress to overturn that provision, The Reporter said.
Mr. Lopez told the website that Obamacare has already changed the work environment at AMC, but no employees have yet been let go because of it.
