CHICAGO (AP) - A suburban Chicago man faces charges after prosecutors say another man died trying to stop him from driving because he thought he was too intoxicated.
The Chicago Sun-Times reports (https://bit.ly/1m4Ln8n) 42-year-old Timothy McShane was ordered held on $350,000 bail Tuesday on reckless homicide, drunken driving and other charges. The charges stem from an incident Saturday that left 33-year-old Shane Stokowski dead.
Prosecutors say Stokowski thought McShane was too intoxicated to drive after leaving a bar. Prosecutors say Stokowski leaned into McShane’s SUV window to try to stop him from driving. But they say McShane drove away with Stokowski still hanging on. Authorities say Stokowski died of blunt trauma to the head and abrasions.
Prosecutors say McShane’s blood-alcohol level was twice the legal limit.
McShane doesn’t have a listed telephone number.
