Actress Gwyneth Paltrow and musician Chris Martin are separating after more than 10 years together — or, as they call it: “consciously uncoupling.”
“We have always conducted our relationship privately, and we hope that as we consciously uncouple and coparent, we will be able to continue in the same manner,” the two wrote in a letter, The Hollywood Reporter reported.
The actress and Coldplay lead singer said that although their relationship is ending, the parents of two are “closer than we have ever been.”
“We are, however, and always will be a family, and in many ways we are closer than we have ever been,” read the couple’s letter. “We are parents first and foremost, to two incredibly wonderful children and we ask for their and our space and privacy to be respected at this difficult time.”
A representative for Ms. Paltrow declined to comment on the story for the Hollywood Reporter.
