A media strategist for David Jolly’s successful campaign in Florida’s recent special congressional election said that part of the reason the Republican emerged victories was that he had a secret weapon: former “Price is Right” game show host Bob Barker.

“When Bob Barker says to people in the 13th district or to America, ’Come on down!’ you come on down,” Adam Goodman, a GOP strategist, said Tuesday on “Fox and Friends,” alluding to Mr. Barker’s catchphrase on the popular television show.

Mr. Goodman said Mr. Jolly also benefited from the blowback against Obamacare and a general sense among the electorate that government is “broken.”

Mr. Jolly defeated Democrat Alex Sink in the special election to fill the seat of the late GOP Rep. C.W. Bill Young. He was sworn into office on March 13.

Mr. Barker hosted the “Price is Right” from 1972 to 2007.
