CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (AP) - The state’s Route 29 advisory panel is meeting in Charlottesville this week.
The 10-member panel is tasked with helping the Virginia Department of Transportation develop recommendations to improve the Route 29 corridor in the Charlottesville area.
Former Virginia Department of Transportation Commission Philip Shucet leads the panel. Other members including officials from Albemarle County, the cities of Charlottesville, Lynchburg and Danville, the towns of Culpeper and Warrenton, the Charlottesville-Albemarle Metropolitan Planning Organization, the Charlottesville and Lynchburg Chambers of Commerce and the Southern Environmental Law Center.
The panel will meet Thursday at the Virginia Center for Transportation Innovation and Research at the University of Virginia.
