NEW YORK (AP) - A pedestrian was injured after being struck by a vehicle fleeing the NYPD.

Authorities say the driver led police on a wild chase through the Upper West Side, Central Park and the Upper East Side on Sunday night.

The New York Post (https://bit.ly/1f9Cy8u ) says the pedestrian was taken to a hospital with bruising and scrapes to his leg and right arm.

At one point, the police car ran into the driver’s fender and pushed it onto the curb, sending pedestrians scrambling out of the way.

The driver was eventually stopped at Park Avenue and East 79th Street.

The chase began after police tried to pull the car over. The reason wasn’t immediately known.
