A frequently cited polling group known for political analysis has delved into the nation’s traditional pastime, finding folks in the Big Apple favor the New York Yankees 61-27 percent over the Mets, even in Queens.

“Root, root, root for the Yankees. The Bombers are the favorite home team in the Big Apple Baseball Poll. Make the most of it. This is Derek Jeter’s last year,” Quinnipiac University Poll Assistant Director Maurice Carroll said.

The Yankees are tops in each borough, from 76-15 percent in The Bronx — where the team plays its home games — to a slim edge of 50-43 percent in the Mets’ borough of Queens.

The Boston Red Sox swiped the devotion of 3 percent of the city.
