Treasury Secretary Jack Lew is heading to the hospital for surgery for an enlarged prostate, various media reported.
He needs the medical procedure to “treat a benign enlarged prostate,” spokespeople for the agency said on Sunday, The Hill reported. His procedure is scheduled for Tuesday, but he will probably be in the hospital all week.
His doctors say he doesn’t have cancer, The Wall Street Journal reported.
Mr. Lew was forced to enter a hospital during last week’s trip to Mexico, but government officials were mum on details. Mr. Lew took over as the top agent at Treasury about a year ago from Timothy Geithner.
