BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) - LSU spokesman Matt Dunaway says Lady Tigers guard Raigyne Moncrief missed practice while her injured left knee was being examined and that it remains unclear if she’ll be available to play in Tuesday night’s second-round NCAA tournament game against West Virginia.
Dunaway says the status of the freshman, who has averaged 10.1 points this season, should be known shortly before the game.
Moncrief’s knee buckled as she drove to the hoop early in the second half of Sunday’s 98-78 first-round victory over Georgia Tech.
Meanwhile, LSU coach Nikki Caldwell says reserve center Derreyal Youngblood has been suspended for an undisclosed violation of team rules and is not expected to be reinstated soon.
Youngblood has played in 21 games, averaging 1.2 points and 1.4 rebounds in 6.1 minutes per game.
