RIVERIA BEACH, Fla. (AP) - A 30-year-old man is accused of smuggling heroin and cocaine from the Bahamas to Florida on a cruise ship.

The Palm Beach Post (https://bit.ly/NJfztr ) reports Adrian Bradley Trench was arrested Thursday after arriving at the Port of Palm Beach from Freeport, Bahamas, on the Bahamas Celebration cruise line.

According to a Homeland Security Investigations criminal complaint, U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers tried to inspect Trench as he got off the ship Thursday morning. Officers asked for a form, which Trench said he forgot in his room on the ship. He ran toward the vessel and authorities told him to stop. He was apprehended.

Officers found two packages wrapped around his calves. Trench admitted he was transporting drugs and had expected to be paid.

He faces federal charges.
