JUNEAU, Alaska (AP) - A new TV ad features former U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice defending Republican U.S. Senate hopeful Dan Sullivan.
American Crossroads says its ad is scheduled to run eight days.
It’s a response to an ad by Put Alaska First PAC, which has defended incumbent Democratic Sen. Mark Begich. Put Alaska First, in its ad, noted that Sullivan lived in Maryland while claiming residency in Alaska.
Sullivan left Alaska in 2002 for a White House fellowship. He was later recalled to active military duty and in 2006, went to work in the administration of President George W. Bush. He returned to Alaska in 2009.
The ad features images of Sullivan in military dress and with Bush.
Rice, in the ad, says serving his country required some time in Washington, D.C.
