STERLING, Va. (AP) - Police say they were called to a shopping mall near Dulles International Airport for a report of a possible shooting, but there was no shooting and no gunman was found.

The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office says in a statement that the Dulles Town Center mall complex was searched out of an abundance of caution Saturday afternoon and that nothing suspicious was found.

The sheriff’s office says the person who called in the report had overheard two women talking about a possible shooting. Officers were unable to locate those women.

Police say the mall will be reopened.
