MIAMI (AP) - An event in Miami will help introduce individuals with physical disabilities and visual impairments to Paralympic adapted sports.

Miami-Dade County is hosting the Paralympic Experience on Saturday at Tropical Park. Admission is free and open to the public.

Attendees will have the opportunity to play wheelchair basketball and tennis, hand-cycling, golf and more. They will also get to meet with Paralympic athletes and coaches. Special guests will include Miami Heat Wheels wheelchair basketball team, ranked sixth nationally.

A county statement says the US Paralympics, a division of the US Olympic Committee, is dedicated to becoming the world leader in the Paralympic sports movement and to promoting excellence in the lives of persons with physical disabilities.
