WINDER, Ga. (AP) - A former Georgia Bureau of Investigation agent will be the new police chief in Winder.

Jim Fullington has been serving as interim police chief since Dec. 2. The Athens Banner-Herald (https://bit.ly/1h3Kngv ) reports that he replaces former Chief Dennis Dorsey, who resigned last year following allegations of cheating in the department on a fitness test.

Before becoming interim chief, Fullington was the department’s operations commander.

He worked for 27 years with the GBI before retiring as special agent in charge of the state agency’s regional office in Athens.
