SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - About 32,000 jobs were added to Utah’s economy last month from the year earlier, holding the state’s jobless rate steady.
The Department of Workforce Services announced Friday that the unemployment rate in February was 3.9 percent.
When Utah’s rate fell to 3.9 percent in January, it marked a five-year-low.
Across the country, the national rate was 6.7 percent last month, a slight increase from January.
DWS reports Utah’s job growth is improving but still below average.
February’s biggest job gains were in the trade, transportation and utilities industry, with 7,700 new jobs. Another 5,200 jobs were added in leisure and hospitality and 4,200 government jobs were added.
