A transgender woman who had gender reassignment surgery now says it’s her former man self who killed three prostitutes in Washington state.
Donna didn’t do it, said Donna Perry, 62, who is charged with the 1990 murders, ABC News reported. Douglas did — and that’s actually what led in part to the gender reassignment surgery, she said, court documents indicate.
Detectives asked her in 2012 why the killings stopped, to which she reportedly responded: “Douglas didn’t stop. Donna stopped it.”
“I’m not going to admit I killed anybody, I didn’t. Donna has killed nobody,” she said, according to ABC.
Miss Perry — who had the gender-changing operation in Thailand in 2000 as a “permanent way to control violence” — was recently linked via DNA evidence to the three cold-case killings, ABC reported. A judge set bond this week for the Spokane County inmate at $1 million.
The three victims — Yolanda Sapp, Kathleen Brisbols and Nickie Lowe — were all prostitutes, authorities said.
Police obtained Miss Perry’s DNA in 2012 after an arrest for a federal weapons charge, a local news station reported.
