MILWAUKEE (AP) - A new report says drought conditions have spread across parts of southern Wisconsin during the last few weeks of winter.
The U.S. Drought Monitor says 44 percent of Wisconsin was experiencing abnormally dry to moderate drought conditions. The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel (https://bit.ly/PVbhkU ) reports the dry areas are confined to the south, central and western parts of the state.
The report says the overall drying trend was most notable across central Missouri and southwestern Wisconsin. That area got less than 50 percent of normal precipitation over the past three months.
