GREENWOOD, Maine (AP) - The mother of a teenager killed in a hit-and-run in Paris last weekend is pleading with the person responsible for her son’s death to come forward and take responsibility.

Sixteen-year-old Xavier Fuentes of Turner was walking along Route 117 on Saturday night when he was struck by a vehicle.

His mother, Sheila Cole, of Greenwood told, the Sun Journal (https://bit.ly/1gJI6KM ) on Wednesday she understands the driver probably did not intend to strike her son.

But she says the driver needs to come forward “not just for our family’s sake, but for the sake of yourself, for your own family.”

Cole says her son had gone to the movies, but left after an argument with his grandmother.

Police have identified two “people of interest” in the case, but have not made any arrests.
