CHARLESTON, W. Va. (AP) - Tavian Dunn-Martin had 19 points and 10 rebounds and Huntington overcame a 40-point performance by George Washington’s Jon Elmore to beat the Patriots 72-64 in the boy’s Class AAA quarterfinals Thursday.

Huntington never trailed and advanced to the semifinals for the first time since the Highlanders won three straight titles from 2005-07. Fifth-seeded Huntington (21-4) will face No. 1 Washington (25-0) on Friday.

Elmore, a VMI recruit, went 15-of-35 from the field, but it wasn’t enough for fourth-seeded George Washington (19-7). Teammate Cai Carena added 12 points and Anthony Dean scored 10.

Huntington’s Jeffrey Howard added 17 points, Chancelor Wooding scored 11 points and Arick Nicks had 10.

Huntington led 16-7 after the first quarter and by as many as 16 points in the fourth quarter.
