GALLUP, N.M. (AP) - The FBI has arrested a 21-year-old northwestern New Mexican man in a homicide.
FBI spokesman Frank Fisher says agents arrested Kevin Martinez of Church Rock on Thursday in the death of Leslie Morgan of Thoreau.
Fisher says Martinez will make his initial appearance in federal court in Albuquerque on Friday.
The Gallup Independent (https://bit.ly/1jl8YBA ) reports that Morgan was a 45-year-old preschool teacher who was last seen leaving his home in his vehicle on March 5.
Morgan was found dead Friday on Navajo Nation land outside Gallup, and the FBI had confirmed it was investigating the death as a homicide.
McKinley County Sheriff’s Office investigators arrested Martinez on a misdemeanor warrant Friday and he was also accused of possession of a stolen motor vehicle and tampering with evidence.
