WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. (AP) - Billionaire businessman and three-term New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg has been selected to deliver the keynote address at Williams College commencement.
Bloomberg is one of five people who will receive honorary degrees at the school’s 225th commencement on June 8.
Bloomberg has also been invited to speak at Harvard University’s commencement on May 29.
The 72-year-old Bloomberg is a Massachusetts native who in 1981 founded Bloomberg LP, a financial information technology company that has grown to employ more than 15,000 people in 73 countries.
He also established Bloomberg Philanthropies, which focuses on public health, arts and culture, the environment, education, and government innovation.
“Looking forward to becoming an honorary Eph” was posted on Bloomberg’s Twitter account.
