Hollywood hefty Alec Baldwin may talk a big game when it comes to criticizing New York City for its prevalence of celebrity-hungry paparazzi, and when it comes to vowing to move. But when it comes down to actually walking the talk, he’s fallen a bit flat.

The star’s just bought a new home in East Hampton, an elite community on Long Island, the New York Post reported.

That’s quite a switch from his rhetoric of just a few weeks ago, when he was vowing to swear off all things New York and pack and move his family back to Los Angeles.

For instance, he opined in a February piece in New York magazine: “I probably have to move out of New York. … Everything I hated about L.A., I’m beginning to crave. … L.A. is a place where you live behind a gate, you get in a car, your interaction with the public is minimal. I used to hate that. But New York has changed. Manhattan is like Beverly Hills and the soul of New York has moved to Brooklyn … I have to accept that.”

Mr. Baldwin currently lives in the West Village with wife Hilaria and their baby daughter, Carmen.
