LUMBERPORT, W.Va. (AP) - Federal authorities are investigating a single-engine plane crash that killed the pilot in Harrison County.

Federal Aviation Administration spokeswoman Kathleen Bergen tells media outlets that the pilot was the only person on board the Beechcraft BE-33 when it crashed Saturday.

The pilot hasn’t been identified.

Police say the plane crashed around 12:15 p.m. Saturday in a wooded area near Lumberport.

The FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board are investigating.
