NORTH ADAMS, Mass. (AP) - A key figure in the American women’s movement is coming to Massachusetts.

Gloria Steinem is scheduled to appear at the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts in North Adams on Tuesday.

Steinem is scheduled to deliver a lecture entitled “The Progression of Feminism: Where are we going?”

Cindy Brown, the college’s vice president of academic affairs, tells The Berkshire Eagle (https://bit.ly/1kgSWLh ) that excitement for the visit is building. Brown says Steinem is a perfect fit for a series of lectures the college is presenting that address equality and social justice.

Steinem has been an activist since the late 1960s.

The lecture is free and open to all. Brown is telling people to arrive early because a full house is expected.
