ST. LOUIS (AP) - A national project to encourage public conversations about race comes to St. Louis this week.

National Public Radio host Michele (MEE’-shehl) Norris started The Race Card Project as an outgrowth of her memoir, which explored racial secrets. The project asks participants to express their thoughts on race in six words.

Norris, a host of NPR’s “All Things Considered,” will discuss the project Thursday at the University of Missouri-St. Louis. The event begins at 7:30 p.m. at the school’s Millennium Student Center.

Tickets are $5 for students of the university and $15 for the general public.
