TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) - The Florida State football team will be without freshman running back Dalvin Cook for the entire spring practice session.

Coach Jimbo Fisher announced Wednesday that the reigning Florida Mr. Football tripped and fell going up a set of stairs in the weight room and injured his shoulder when he put his arm out to brace the fall. Cook had surgery and faces three months of rehab after getting out of a sling.

Cook enrolled early to take part in spring practices and get a jump on his freshman year. He was expected to compete for a place in the rotation after Devonta Freeman and James Wilder Jr. declared for the NFL.

Karlos Williams is expected to win the starting job with Mario Pender and Ryan Green also in the mix.
